One obvious way is to use VBA from within Word to obtain a
particular value from the Jet database (create a recordset
object containing only the needed data).
Another is to use VB6 to do the same thing.
The techniques are the same as given in the textbook, using
DAO objects (which, as I have maintained for years, is still
a perfectly fine way to access Jet [Access] databases).

Subject: [helpwithvb] Mail merge between Access and Word -
using VB-6
Hi. I was working on the project out of Professor Smiley's
VB-6 textbooks, and it seemed to me that he abandoned the
improvements made
in the Objects textbook when he enhanced it with the
Database. Is there any way to pass a value from a database
to MS Word using VB-6 so
I don't have to completely start over from version one? How
would I go about doing that?
Thanks!
Richard
