Hi VB Help,

              When I try to load the MSDN part of my VBNET 2003 program 

It accepts the first two MSDN CDs then on the third MSDN CD my computer


shuts down I get a message such as " A problem has been detected and 

windows has been shut down to prevent damage to your computer in then 

states Bad_Pool_Caller or Page_Fault_ sometimes my computer just locks 

up. Any suggestions?

Have you contacted MSDN? They can ususally help and/or send replacement

disks to you.



If all else fails, I have the july 2003 MSDN on DVD, If you want, I can

take a look later and see if I can extract certain CD's

or the whole thing. I can then createa a torrent and seed

Hello Bruce,


 


I recently had a similar problem.


 


The only way I found of solving the problem, was to 
back everything up on to CDs and reformatting and reinstalling Windows 
XP.


 


It is a real pain, but it is a Windows corruption 
in the system files somewhere. It doesn't have anything to do with your version 
of vb 2003 program.


 


Someone else may have a better way of handling the 
problem, but I'm sure that you will find a list of errors in the Event Handler 
program of Windows, which will indicate a corruption problem of some 
sort.

I *think* I had a similar problem way back when I installed VB.NET 2003. 


 


If memory serves correctly, I only had 1GB of memory installed, and even though it said that the program would run in a 1GB sandbox, it needed 2GB to install. Make sure your memory is sufficient and check out your page file size.

I could be mistaken...it's been a while since that version was installed (five years, four employers, and three states ago...) and the synapses aren't as young as they used to be! &nbsp; ;)
