We have relied on HostExplorer being launched from a browser
using
the TN3270://hostname and Telnet://hostname syntax so we
could
support multiple version of HE at the same time (we have
users
running the old tcp3270 V3.14, HostExplorer 6.2.0.11 and
HostExplorer
2006). With the upcoming release of Internet Explorer 7,
Microsoft
has removed support for the URL:tn3270 and URL:Telnet
protocols. I
tried adding them to the new "Default Programs" in
Vista, but
Internet Explorer still did not launch the application. I
was able
to create new entries like URL:TN1234 that I could use.
I am wondering if anybody is using browser support for
tn3270://hostname and if they have been successful in
getting it to
work under Internet Explorer 7 in Windows XP or Vista?
Thanks, Dan
