Greetings,
We have an IBM PC application called Visual Age Developer
that uses PCOMM
V5.6 and a TSO session to upload files and then submit a job
to generate
the end result from this set of uploaded files. We would
like to convert
this over to use HLLAPI with Host Explorer but have not had
much luck.
The PCOMM host session id is "A" but when we try
to connect to HE session
"A" the application says there was an error
finding the session. When
we try to define the session id as "Sess-1" which
appears to be the HE
Session Long Name, the error message goes away but the
application hangs
after saying "Connecting to the host session" so
this goes nowhere either.
I was under the impression that HLLAPI with Host Explorer
was compatible
with other vendors including PCOMM so there must be
something I am missing
in defining the Host Explorer session to support this
application.
I have tried setting HE's Global Options - HLLAPI
Auto-Assign and EHLLAPI
Compatibility: PCOMM 32-bit without any change in the
eventual outcome.
The application still hangs trying to connect to the host
session.
Any other settings I should use or any other ideas about how
to convert
this PCOMM session into a Host Explorer v11.0 session using
HLLAPI?
