FYI. I also e-mailed debian-qt-kdelists.debian.org based on 
http://packages.debian
.org/changelogs/pool/main/k/kdebase/kdebase_3.5.6.dfsg.2-2/c
hangelog  
changelog (mentioned htdig) to see if they have seen/heard
of this issue 
and see what they say...
