Htdig 3.1.6 configure error on Solaris 10

Hi all

I am now trying to configure and compile htdig 3.1.6 on
Solaris 10
(Generic_118833-03)

The configure program gives me the following error:

configure: error: To compile ht://Dig, you will need a C++
library. Try
installing libstdc++.

Why does it say this? I thought libstdc++ was part of gcc
now. I have
/opt/sft/bin on my path.

I am running 	./configure  --with-PACKAGE

Where am I going wrong? I've spent the past few days trying
to compile
htdig. God, I hate compiling code. Any help would greatly
appreciated.

Sincerely

Bettina

Thank you so much for your help.

I ran:

CXXFLAGS=-Wno-deprecated CPPFLAGS=-Wno-deprecated
./configure
--with-PACKAGE

...and it worked.

THANKYOU!

Have you tried the configure command shown in http://www.htdig.org/
FAQ.html#q3.8? The phrasing of the FAQ is a little dated,
but the extra
settings do solve one of the problems that lead to the above
message.

The fact that gcc is installed does not necessarily mean
that g++ and
libstdc++ are also installed. I can't speak for the Solaris
specifics; it has been years since I worked on a Solaris
box. Is g++ (or
c++) present in the same directory as gcc? If so, I would
assume
libstdc++ is in fact installed and the problem is one of
environment
settings rather than installed software.

Htdig 3.1.6 - how do you create a Solaris package?
country flaguser name

 Hi all

I have sucessfully configured and compiled htdig on 3.1.6 on
Solaris 10
thanks to the subscribers of this list.

Just one other thing - rather than now just installing htdig
on my
server, I want to make a Solaris package so I can install on
several
servers.

Can someone point me in the direction of documentation on
how to do
this? I have looked but haven't been able to find any nor
any scripts to
do it.

Many thanks for all your assistance
