I don't believe there is any hidden badness.
Citadel is reasonably well known - at least, it generally
pops up when
people are looking at 'groupware'; I think people don't try
it for a
number of reasons - mainly (IMHO) marketing. It also has
this idea of
"rooms" and things which I suspect probably
confuses traditional mail
administrators and users.
I've never tried it myself much beyond play poking, but it
looks a nice
enough system.
