If I could suggest something: Andrew Wafaa started a project
on
rpath.org (I think? It's in the archives...) which is
basically a system
of creating a live CD. However, as well as being suitable
for live CDs,
you can also create "VMware images" or something
which you can use in
VMware player (or Qemu, etc.).
I don't know how far he got with it, but that would be a
really great
project to help out on. In particular, we'd get two things
out of it:
* a live CD, for people to try out Hula,
* a working server image, which we could use on the
demo server.
For me, the second point is quite important: I think if
someone is going
to offer a demo, it needs to be based on some kind of
virtualisation,
because we want to protect the actual demo machine from any
kind of
security problem. It would also mean we could let people
demo the
administration tools (when we write them ;)
It would be great if everyone interested in this area could
work
together on this - the offer of hosting is fantastic, and I
know a lot
of people want to see a working demo.
Cheers,
Alex.
