    I am currently running r407 built from tarball on RHAT ES 4 U2 (all  current patches) and see that the current version as of today is r1424.
  
  Is this a viable upgrade, or should I do something in between? Is there  a way to upgrade? I've been scouring the archives and Googling the heck  out of this and can't find a definitive answer beyond backing up  directories, installing new version, re-creating accounts, and copying  old folders in place of the new ones (ala   http://forge.novell.com/pipermail/hula-general/2005-October/001311.html  ) 
  
  BTW, my install is pretty default, as I've read Alex's messages about his packages.
  
  I'm just wondering if anyone has some type of upgrade experience like mine, and any gotchas not on this list. ;
