I tried the Bi.ini file change without any
success and the username and password remain the same for the server.
I’ve had problems with other
Bi/Server’;s on many customer sites in the past, but I can always resolve
this. This one doesn̵7;t even seem to have anything wrong with it, it all
seems to be running apart from the error message saying it’s not. It
doesn8217;t make sense̷0;

2003 problems
I had a similar problem
Andy. It all depends on the exact error message.
Some quick things to try:
1)In the bi.ini file,
check the length of the web address being called. May be worth changing
this so it calls the ipaddress od the server, rather than its name.
2)Has anyone changed the
administrator password for that server? If so you can change the
logon and password details for each service.
Good luck

Subject: Bi/Server and Windows
2003 problems
Hi all,
We have a customer running Bi/Server
on a Windows 2003 server. All was working fine until recently when after a
reboot the Bi/Server software refused to come back up again.
I have tried everything I can think
of, including uninstalling and reinstalling the software, but no matter what I
get the error message stating that it appears that Bi/Server isn't running.
I have checked and Hummingbird Core
Services is running and when I look in the Windows services manager all the
other Hummingbird services are running, which would suggest Bi/Server is
running but it just doesn't seem to realise it.
We have Bi/Server running on many
Windows 2000 servers without any issues at all, but on the Windows 2003 server
we have this problem.
Has any else experienced this or managed to get Bi/Server working on Windows
2003?
I have contacted support on this but
it appears to have caught them out a little too, so while waiting for further
suggestions I thought I'd see if anyone in the user group has had this issue or
knew of anything further to try?
The software is set up exactly as
required as is the user it's running under. All permissions are correct and
there doesn't appear to be any other software on the server to conflict with
it, including anti virus software and other real time scanning software.
The Bi/Server version is 8.5.1.6 and
was running fine since install for a few months until the server was rebooted
and now this has happened.
Any suggestions, experience or
pointers appreciated.
Thanks
