I think you should stick with your protectorate stance. It is a valid position, in principle. (I do not know about a fellow employee out of thousands that simply works for the same company -arguably not in the same town or the same building and is in a wholly different department -- whoa that is quite a leap - I think you lose in court) In this particular case the fines - appealable, noticed by the SEC, were with regard to conduct at another firm where he previously worked. When combined with the aforementioned distance and relevancy this brings this thread dangerously close to libel. In any case this is a good and valid argument to have, out in the open.
My position is more one for the good of the list. Some would call me a hypocrite as defended many a defamation cases on the grounds of free speech myself. But I never tried them as Chair of the GA.
