snapping to text fields

Is it possible to snap to the insertion point of a text
field?
If not, it would be a nice feature, because now I have the
following problem:
When I insert text, it's easy to align the insertion point
with the
grid. But when one changes the alignment, the insertion
point moves to
another position and loses it's grid alignment. I find no
way to put
it back on the grid...
This also happens when rotating/scaling transformable text.
