Job Description:
Oracle DBA will work as part of a dedicated central team focused on supporting the Derivatives group on DRD Oracle RAC / Non-RAC servers.
Successful candidates should:
Have knowledge of performance & tuning (database & code), key configuration parameters, version features and replication technologies.
Able to design and implement large and complex replicated database environments.
Work as part of a central infrastructure team which provides dedicated support to development groups working with Oracle.
Understand the firms database strategy and work to ensure that new deployments conform to strategy and are deemed successful.
Work with development teams to provide technical and project assistance where required.
Troubleshoot and correct database issues in an efficient and timely manner
Document and enforce all database architecture and relevant procedures according to established standards.
Proactive review of database configuration, security, performance tuning, capacity planning, and database monitoring.
Develop strategies for database recovery and implementation of databases.
Comfortably manage client relationships and expectations.
Comfortably coordinate and manage a meeting.
Job Requirements: (Knowledge/ Experience):
REQUIRED
Oracle 9i
10G RAC
Unix , Linux, NT, Storage (EMC, Clarion), Clustering solutions, RMAN, SRDF
Proven track record in delivery of multiple concurrent business objectives.
DESIRED
Project Management
Streams Replication
Works independently and in a team environment.
Excellent problem solving skills
Applicant should have a minimum of 5-10 years industry experience in Oracle and streams.
Problem management experience for large scale problems such as site disaster recovery, sql worm, san failure
Ability to manage projects within and across groups
Wall street experience
