Description: Maintain complex databases that are the foundation of a
widely-deployed digital Media Asset Management (MAM) supporting numerous
marketing, publicity, and production departments. Architect database
expansion to accommodate new functionality requirements. Translate
functional processes into tables, schemas, data relationships, jobs,
stored procedures, and triggers. Install and configure database
software, patches, and updates; Adapt processes and migrate data to new
version releases. Develop structures that ensure data integrity,
stability, scalability, security, and recoverability. Apply monitoring,
performance and tuning procedures to achieve maximum system efficiency.
Design programs for testing and certifying new functionality releases.
Troubleshoot and resolve functional issues. Develop processes for
importing, exporting, and mapping of large volumes of data, and
integrating with external systems. Manage regular data back-ups. Write
reports and prepare data analysis as required.
Skills: Advanced knowledge of past and current releases of Microsoft SQL
Server including deployment in a multi-tiered web-based environment.
Advanced skills in data modeling, database design, and developing
complex stored procedures. Understanding linked/replicated servers and
high-volume data storage (e.g, SAN, NAS). Ability to manage database
development efforts and drive projects from inception to completion.
Ability to review project requests and describe database development
requirements and estimates of time and cost to accomplish project. High
awareness and understanding of industry trends related to emerging
database tools and practices. Ability to work on a small team in a
fast-paced environment. Fast learner with ability to multi-task. Well
organized with attention to detail. Excellent written oral and written
communication skills. Knowledge of digital media file characteristics
(e.g., graphics, images, video, audio) and MAM systems a plus.
