Browser does not accept cookies

Hello again,

another thing that happens on more and more pages is that they tell me my
browser would not accept cookies. Right now I want to login to eBay and
they tell me "Der von Ihnen verwendete Browser akzeptiert keine Cookies."
(which means "the browser you use does not accept cookies"). On other pages
it behaves similar. Are there different versions of cookies that IB does no
more support or do they only check for the browser one uses and reject a
login with the wrong error message? Anyway, it becomes more and more
problematic upto impossible to use webpages that need cookies for login or
similar personal information. Has this been addressed in IB2.4?

Greetings,

Patrik

It's not just IBrowse that suffers from that. There's plenty of
stupidly written sites which do stupid tests for cookies.

e.g. They don't actually try and use cookies, THEN complain that they
don't work. Instead, they do a stupid (and wrong) test, and if you
don't have the browser that they expect (regardless of its cookie
handling settings), or don't respond to the JavaScript command that they
try, they declare that you're not accepting cookies.

The world is full of morons, and alleged webmasters are amongst them.

You'd really need to give a few example broken sites for someone to
verify the real reasons, though.

Thanks for the explanation. I expected something like this because of still
so many pages just test "Do I have IE? Do I have Netscape? Do I have
Firefox? No? Then you are in bad luck. We don't want you here".

As stated, eBay is one of them. I have not collected other pages in my mind
as I mostly try to use them once and nevermore if they don't want to play
with me but I will report some more as soon as I fall over them.

So Yahoo is the next one. I can no more log into my mail account and
Yahoogroups for mailing lists because of rejected cookies.
