Possibly the same cause, different symptoms. (OS3.9 on a 68060 in my case).
Looks like a java script that is very hungry for system resources (time &
memory), let's see what Oliver says.

Most probably just memory trashing, hence the random symptoms.  And
probably the JS lib is the cause (if the problems happen only with JS
on), otherwise it could be the GIF anim(s) on that page which are
posing problems.  Works ok in 2.4, anyway.
