hi,
here is the question I asked around but haven't heard any
feedback. we know encoder producer .tmp encoded file (on
Linux, this is stored in /tmp) before encoder finalizes the
file after it finishes the encoding and then copy it over to
where it is set to be. we have a situation that the encoder
crashes or stalled due to many reason (power outage could be
one of them), so we don't have final .rm file, instead we
have this weird named ******.tmp file. When we use
rmeditor -i ****.tmp to look at the file, it says everything
ok based on our encoder setting, but when we try to play it
with realplayer, it has zero duration and doesn't play at
all. we tried to edit it using rmeditor to set the start and
end time, but rmeditor errors out. we are sure alll the
encoded bits are there because the file size is about right,
it is not playable because there are some header info
missing due to the missing finalizing stage. So our question
s how can we add the correct info back to it to play as much
as we can? are there any tools available for us to do it
from Helix community or Real? thanks,
Frank,
