GraphicsMagick - Query.

Hello,
If this email id is not appropraite it would be nice if you
could point to
some other appropriate pointer.

I evaluated the GraphicsMagick library on linux platform and
found that
composite and mogrify functions provided by "gm"
utility could be used.

But we don't want to use executable from the .so file as we
don't have
control over the executable once it is fired. And hence we
cann't keep track
whether executable has done its task. It would not be good
way in the
miulti-user environment.

We would like to make the shared file which we could load
via some other
shared library.

I installed GraphicsMagick-1.1.7 version library on redhat
linux platform.

And used following commands for the installation -

1) ./configure

2) make install

Could you guide me as how to compile the programs in the
magick folder?

I could not able to compile a single program from this
folder on linux.

I gave following command to compile and link the composite.c
source file

*g++ -I /usr/local/include/GraphicsMagick/ -I
/usr/src/redhat/SOURCES/GraphicsMagick- 1.1.7/ -L
/usr/local/lib/ -L
/usr/lib/ composite.c -lGraphicsMagick++ -lGraphicsMagick
-lm -lpthread*

I get the following error message:

*/usr/lib/gcc-lib/i386-redhat-linux/3.2.2/../../../crt1.o(.t
ext+0x18): In
function `_start': *

*../sysdeps/i386/elf/start.S:77: undefined reference to
`main' *

*collect2: ld returned 1 exit status *

* *

I could compile and link programs in Magick++ folder.

I used the following command to compile and link flip.c
program.

g++ -I /usr/local/include/GraphicsMagick/ -L /usr/local/lib/
-L /usr/lib/
composite.c -lGraphicsMagick++ -lGraphicsMagick -lm
-lpthread

Thanks and Regards,
Pradnya.
