Pointer to jpeg raw data

Hello,

I have created a image and I have to send it with a socket
to an other 
computer. At the moment I save the image on hard disc as a
jpeg an 
reload it into ram but this is quite inefficient especially
I have only 
32 mb ram for the whole system (Linux Debian).
So how can I get a Pointer with points on the jpeg raw data?
