CMYK PDF profile problem

Hi list,

I have a serious problem with a large number of PDFs,
colorspace CMYK.
When I convert them to another format,(jpg, bmp, miff,
pdf..what ever..) 
the colors are misrepresented. Not a lot, but I dont get an
exact match.
I tryed out several Profiles but without the disired result.
The PDFs were created with Quark xpress and no ICC profile
was set.
Can anybody give me a hint what the problem might be ?
