Hi, I am trying to use PerlMagick on WinXP. I have
ImageMagick-6.2.8-7-Q16-windows-dll installed along with
ActivePerl-5.8.8.817. I also selected the checkbox to
install PerlMagick
during the ImageMagick install (ActivePerl-5.8.8.817 had
been installed
previously). I tried to make a test script and immediately
got a error.

I placed a line with "use Image::Magick;" at the
start of the script, and
get an error at this line. Here is the error:

"This application has failed to start because
CORE_RL_magick_.dll was not
found. Re-installing the application may fix this
problem."

I checked and CORE_RL_magick_.dll is installed in the
ImageMagick program
directory. Was there something else I needed to do to get
perl to find it?

S.P.

Hi Kawayanan

There are various explanations:

o You installed ImageMagick in a DOS box, and it updated the
PATH env var, but
the DOS box does not see the new path :-(. Solution: Close
that DOS box and open
a new one, and check that the PATH includes the IM path

o You tried all this in a CGI script, but for similar
reasons to the above,
including the CGI script deleting $ENV{'PATH'} for
security reasons, the PATH
does not include IM.
