SUSE Linux 10.1 & 6.2.9

I am brand new to this mailing list so I hope I am not
asking an 
already asked question.

I am not able to make 6.2.9.  I keep having to copy files to
various 
libs.  Has anyone already successfully done make on SUSE
Linux 10.1
