Hi,
I would some advice on the best format/technique to send
picture files produced from ImageMagick to a printer with
minimal network traffic, max speed, minimum processing time.
The files in question are created automatically and are
typically 0.5meg in .jpeg format, which our printers (and
all others I know about) cannot process. The printers can
print the files in postscript format, but they are 8 meg in
size and takes ages to process! .tiff are slightly smaller
at 7.7 meg and I cannot get .pcl to work at all, despite the
printers being made by HP.
It is a unix network running cups.
Thanks in advance.
David
