Hi,
I'm trying to use IM to render some text, but I'm not
getting
visually appealing results.
Have a look at the attached screenshot (I hope this mailing
list
supports attachments).

I'm showing the results of

  convert -size 164x200 xc:white -font ./LucidaGrande.ttf
-
pointsize 10 -density 72 -draw "text 10,16
'Anthony'" label.png

I've experimented with various density and pointsize
settings, but
I'm not getting the antialiasing that I get in applications
(see
Photoshop on the right hand side and a normal (Carbon) OS X

application below). With greater font sizes, the result is
downright
ugly.

Is there a way to control antialiasing? How do I get nicely
rendered
fonts?
I've got freetype 6.3.7 and 6.3.8 installed, and IM 6.2.9.

Thanks in advance.

PS.: please cc me in replies.

In case the screenshot attached to my previous message got
stripped
from the post, here it is:
