One problem

Hi
i think i had installed the imagemagick to my server fedora
core 4
but 
when i say which convert 
it shows 
/usr/local/bin
this is fine
when i say convert logo: logo.gif
it makes a logo.gif file 
this is fine too
but when i try my famous gallery to installl on the server
it says

The installer found the ImageMagick 'convert' program in
'/usr/local/bin/', however it can't be executed by the
script.

You may consider using GD instead of ImageMagick.

this is not fine
what i have tried
chmod 777 *
chgrp apache (all files and directories)
also tried with 
chmod 777 * and
chgrp myDomainUsername (all files and directories)

message is always the same

I revisioned the server and installed imagemagick under a
directory under the user name
gave all permissions to that username 
the message is again the same (with the new path of course)
