Couldn't import image library

Hi
      I am newbie in PIL progmming,I hv installed pil 1.1.5
on python
2.2 but unable to import image libray.
     I Hv tried
                    installed pil 1.1.5
                    python setup.py build_ext -i
                    python selftest.py
         and tried for import image
      it gives error for no module found.
     PLease help me.
