Every time a topic comes up on this listserve, there are two
things at stake:
the topic itself, and how well we handle it. We've had some
excellent input
from both sides on this topic, and maybe a few pieces which
weren't up to this
standard including two of the latest exchanges. We do have
further goals for
this list, concerning the level of decorum and quality of
discussion, which
greatly affect our ability to discuss this issue further
here or future issues
here. I know this is difficult with the negative model for
discussions being
so prevalent elsewhere, but your help in restoring and
maintaining the higher
standard will be all the more valuable. With appreciation,
