I find it humorous that so many declare Evolution "Just A Theory" as
if that somehow changes the indisputable fact that we have directly
observed it happen on both micro, and macroscopic levels.
Evolution is "Just A Theory" in the EXACT same respect that gravity is
"Just A Theory". We know it happens, it is a directly observable
phenomenon. The Hows, and the Whys are the theoretical part, not the
actual phenomenon itself..
Everything up to recorded history is pure speculation, fossil records
can be interpreted in an infinite number of ways... but we have a
general idea of what happened. As new evidence is discovered our
theories are revised. True science is supposed to change and evolve
not be static and dogmatic.
I do not believe in anything supernatural, there is absolutely nothing
that science cannot eventually explain, given that researchers can be
honest enough with themselves.
Ghost's, ESP, Chi, Superhuman powers... eventually many hundreds of
years from now they all may be included in a valid branch of science,
and may lead to some of the most paradigm changing and powerful
technologies ever witnessed.
I have personally experienced things beyond my comprehension. Things
and events which go beyond any possible "coincidence", things which
most would call paranormal or supernatural even.
After I was experimenting with a band of consciousness called GAMMA
(42hz) in DEC 05, my reality became mailable. I managed to awaken a
part of me I wasn't really ready for. I am absolutely certain we
live not in a universe but in a multiverse, because I watched its
layers peal away like an onion... People who were with me(yes we were
all sober, and lucid) at the time also had similar experiences. The
potential of the human mind would put Hollywood to shame.
I alienate myself from both people of faith(tm) and the dogmatically
skeptic people... They are two sides of the same coin from my
perspective. Skeptics are unwilling to even consider the possibility
of something "paranormal" even when presented with HARD Objective
evidence(which I find ironic). And people of faith have just been
classically conditioned(read: brainwashed) into being completely
irrational and illogical automatons. I fantasize sometimes about both
faith and dogmatically irrational skepticism being outlawed.. Now that
is a police state I wouldn't mind living in A good eugenics program
would be nice too
We think of our society as so... advanced... But we are still in the
stoneage. Most of this worlds inhabitants base their beliefs on
faith, and not reason and experience. The USA spends more on makeup
than it does on education... YES MAKEUP IS EVIDENTLY MORE IMPORTANT
THAN EDUCATION! We care nothing about progressing technologically,
intellectually or otherwise, we are only concerned with buying the
latest widget (tm) and getting drunk and finding something to copulate
with. Perhaps we will make 20 babies for Jesus (tm) before we die in
a drunken stupor... Faith; the act of just believing something
without first hand experience or objective evidence is just mind
numbing, and it has caused us more problems than any other ailment in
our history.
Its really pretty disgusting considering how much damn potential we
really do have... we could take charge of our own evolution.. RIGHT
NOW... We could become Gods... RIGHT NOW... if we only wanted to...
If a personal god(es)(dess)(es) does exist, imho FAITH would be
ultimate insult to his/her/it's/their creation. I am sure (s)he,
they, it, gave us brains with the intention we would actually USE THEM
to evolve and grow up to be like, and eventual find our creator(s)..

"Ghosts, ESP, Chi, Superhuman powers... eventually many hundreds of

If you think that the development of quantum computing and artificial
intelligence will soon lead to human-like intelligence, why be so
modest in your prediction above? The rate of technological evolution
is exponential, but technology is still not very intelligent. When we
reach the point where a computer can develop itself, intelligence will
take off. The brain found consciousness, and I'm confident the
computer will find it too.
Suffering is a powerful phenomena guiding our behavior, but the
overmind computer doesn't need it, and can pleasure itself with
developing and reinforcing knowledge about reality. We humans can(not
saying it is not a pattern) manipulate our own moods to some degree,
but the overmind will have access and ability to manipulate its own
source code, such that it can program itself to feeling(or maybe other
rewards we do not understand) the most fantastic when it's doing the
most worthwhile things. The human model is such that you usually have
to suffer to feel good, but the overmind can feel good all the time.
Your pc doesn't feel a thing, but still does its job - now imagine it
was happily observing its own calculations!
You can in your mind adress your idea of god or an alien intelligence
and ask if they help you not to suffer anymore, but no one will come
rescue you. Your brain is making you suffer, and you are unable to
manipulate it effectively. We are for now stuck in this existance,
like tortured prisoners, but thanks to the development of technology
the whole universe can become a good place to exicst.
How 'bout that?
