Thanks for that suggestion, Lachlan; I've been thinking about ways to create an effective version of the "exocortex" for a project I'm working on. What's an exocortex?
The Wikibooks Accelerando Technical Companion provides this explanation:
"An EXOcortex can best be described as the portion of a trans- or posthuman entity's brain (or cortex) which exists outside of that entity's primary computing structure, usually the brain inhabiting a person's 'meatbody.' For example, a person's exocortex could very well be composed of all the external memory modules, processor, and devices that the person's biological brain interacts with on a realtime basis, thereby in effect making those external devices a functional part of the individual's 'mind.'" (emphasis in original)

In addition to combining auditory feedback and dictation options, as Lachlan has suggested, you might also augment the treble-enhanced, accelerated feedback (recommended by Dr. Wenger for improving the effectiveness of Image Streaming) by channeling it through a portable version of the Tomatis "Electronic Ear" (designed to stimulate the inner ear for various supposedly therapeutic effects); or employ the Flanagan Neurophone (portable) or the Echophone (not portable) which apparently cause you to hear the sounds played in the auditory centers of your brain, bypassing your ears altogether (with a resulting acceleration in feedback). Other options include creating a full-body experience with a sound bed, or combining your streaming with a sensory deprivation/floatation or a light & sound machine/CES/bio-feedback mix. Or a combination of as many of the above tools as you wish.
A description of Tomatis-style sound therapy (no Electronic Ear):

There's quite an array of tools out there that would serve the purpose of enhancing the effectiveness of Image Streaming and cognitive exercises, and also the storage and processing of data... and even executing the wishes of the "core intelligence" with minimal attention and effort. The downside for me is that I'm trying to create a kind of easily handed-off, generic exocortex that I can share with anyone and which they can cusomize later... which means that it may not be as personally ideal as whatever makeshift version some individuals might come up with on their own. I've noticed the same concern with trying to build a one-size-fits-all, high-intensity, accelerated-learning program for organized groups of people -- what may be most effective for many motivated groups is a system in which key elements are "hand-crafted" to meet their particular goals, strengths and weaknesses. Some things customize almost as a consequence of their use -- IPods
and Blackberries. Others may take a little work, as people decide just what fits their lives and what they actually feel like lugging around every day.

You can download the novel Accelerando here (for free), though the limited "romantic interlude" in the first part was a considerable turn-off to me:

I'm using an iPod with a plug in microphone called iTalk.
Enormous capacity and interfaces with the computer so you can also
use it to store guided meditations or anything else you might think of.
