Silk: Hi ya: It has (free will) nothing to do with
improving the quality of life it ( that we have no
free will) is simply a fact of life. Not unlike
"Death"- How does that improve the quality of life..
It might for those left behind.. more for them.. but
death not unlike free will is just one facet of life.
zen: in a society that considers people purely free
and that the self is one of the most important things.
Silk: Society is for the most part self-serving &
ignorant & puts forth & believes what it is
comfortable with. The truth has never been known to
deter society from believing what it wishes to be so.
Silk: Well academia (what every thats worth) will tell
you that the roots of mankind began in Africa (Unless
you opt for the multi-regional theory) & that we are
decendents of monkeys & that with evolution &
speciation some of those decendents became dogs,
dinosaurs, birds, fish & mankind. Now the mankind
species branched off into different "races" - chinese,
caucasian, Mediteranian & middle eastern (desert
types)These desert types the arabs & jews (like
Iraqis)
are all cut from the same cloth but have different
religious Ideas & different books.. Koran - torah...
Any group bound together by who knows what (genetic
drift) is going to exibit cetain like characteristics,
like "jewishness"; or Europeaness, or orientalness,
Latinoness ect. What they all have at the core is
humaness. Not unlike dogs.. German Shepards,
Chihuahuas, Irish Setter, Collies ect.. They've got
dogness at the core.. The human not unlike the dog
belongs to a big family though that family has
disimilarities just as do the dogs.
Man is just and only but another brick in the wall.
The animals have been spared many "hangups" the human,
to their own chagrin, has not like discrimination,
mines better than yours and all that good stuff.
As concerns the earth, A wasting asset charging
idiotically thru space, man is just a temporary
visitor, just passing thru. Unlike the other animals
man has not lived in harmony with the planet as have
the other animals.
Due to his vile programming man won't, as did the
dinosaurs, require any outside intervention to usher
him off the scene. Greed will devour him & he will be
swallowed up by the jaws of his own treachery! In this
way as nature finally concludes her cruel experiment
& at the same time, having become thoroughly fed up &
disgusted by the rampant greed & indifference,
ultimately slaps man & his toys down she will put paid
to him in the manner in which it would be most fitting
& appropriate, he will exit as he has lived, as usual
biting off more than he could chew & as always with
his reach exceeding his grasp.

disbelieving free will can have downsides, a
consideration I ignored in writing about it.
Quite a few of the message posted here, are not
directly relevant to the purpose of project
renaissance and methods. Some use the group as
a means of philosophic rambling....
Silk: Unless you opt for "solipsism"there is a self
which is programmed to do either this or that, a self
sans free will. Why should the posts here be relevant
to "project renaissance"? Philosophical "rambling (as
you put it) is exactly what image streaming consists
