Thx everyone for the input.
I will try to make visualization peg like mike said, but sometime it's hard to find the visualization peg for each character. But I will try. And if try to write character in order to memorize, I was try to do that. But, when said like we memorize about 300 char, it's not possible to write 300 char everyday.... it's time consuming.
Well anyway, I will keep trying everything that I got to master that language.

Subject: RE: [imagestream] Re: Learn Language
I know memorizing vocab in general is hard for me too. I seem to remember that was one of the hardest parts to learning a new language. Recently I've been thinking about how people conceptually strategize like in chess or how professional detectives figure out how things happened. Remembering moves ahead and counter moves in a step by step process and mapping out every conceivable and logical possibility seems very difficult. I'm not talking about the people who memorize the proven strategies, mind you, but people who are naturally good at these things. This kind of memory ability is amazing I think...
I would try visual mnemonics, since its chinese characters (symbols) that your trying to memorize. If you could some how use the visual lines to associate them to pictures then the pictures to the meaning you might be able to at least recall the meaning better. (For example I remember when I was trying memorize the words for the number symbols in like preschool or kindergarden, I noticed that there were 3 points on the char "3", so I would count the points and know that it was word "three". I was really clever back in those days.
) I know there's definitely 1000 of symbols written chinese is most definitely the hardest. Learning the ones using this way you can memorize faster but the method takes practice, creativity and patience.
I still use visual pegging ( a differnt memory device) for when I goto the grocery store so that I can remember my list of groceries.... I suppose its a tribute to kevin trudeau's genius / entrepreneurship skills where I first learned about memory devices ... but you know what it works. Still have to review the associations but better than conventional rote methods I think.
