German psychiatry played a major role in the HOLOCAUST

Hitler himself was influenced by the work and beliefs of eugenicists
and psychiatrists. This is an established fact. His own "personal
bible" was a book written by an American eugenicist.

Central to eugenics is the belief that any psychological trait,
including traits we do not consider normal, are purely a matter of
genetics. Any amount of trauma, abuse, etc has no effect on the
mind according to eugenicists. Many psychiatrists historically have
believed in eugenic theory. Several still do.

***Roughly 40 percent of German psychiatrists joined the Waffen SS
by 1933. The Waffen SS were Hitlers terror soldiers responsible for
many of the atrocities against Jews and other "undesirables".

***Sad Fact: over 30 percent of American Psychiatrists are Jewish in
ancestry while many of them have no religious faith at all according
to studies. This is was psychoanalysts call an unconscious
identification with the Nazi aggressor.

concluded that the whole holocaust would never have happened without

According to Dr. Ross, prior to World War II in the United States
the psychiatric population was being ruthlessly oppressed and
harmed. Did it solve anything? They believed it would. Did it?
Not at all. The Nazis actually used what the Americans were doing
to their psychiatric population as propaganda and justification for
their murderous policies!

While German psychiatry caused the deaths of 200,000 psychiatric
patients and arguably played a tremendous role in the holocaust
itself(according to Dr.Peter Breggin and many other professionals),
***AMERICAN psychiatry, SINCE 1950, has caused the deaths of over
1,000,000 human lives mostly because of accidental overdosage on
older neuroleptic drugs. They have injured many more according to
other authorities particularly Dr. Peter Breggin. And you know what
else? They still believe any mental problem is mostly if not
entirely "hereditary genetic" in cause. That is what students
are "taught" in medical schools.

I do remember reading up on some of this a half
century ago. During the early 20th century, most
states routinely sterilized those whom they deemed
"defective" in mental health or in intelligence. It
took the extreme excesses of the Nazis' brutal
practices to generate sufficient public repugnance in
the western nations to move us into a different path.
One might say that we "recoiled from our own shadow."
- And it is clear that we have not moved nearly far
enough along that different path. ...win

PS - incidentally folks, when we object to another's
statements, there are cooler ways to do so than to
castigate the other's character - or that of the list.
The past few months have been relatively courteous,
which has given us some nice exchanges. Let's not slip
