Very few people are thinking for themselves. They simply have
opinions based on their cultures beliefs and their own unconscious
emotions and needs. Their culture influences their perception and
thinking processes to a very large extent. Basic cognitive
psychology. According to some cognitive psychologists people will
fight very hard to defend their beliefs even when presented with
simple information or facts that contradict or prove their belief
system to be wrong.
Look at the things people have believed throughout history.
