Thank you for responding to my email, Susan. Yes, I did get
radiation on
the same side that the lung scarring is showing up, so I'm
feeling a lot
better about things. I was pretty scared that maybe my
cancer was back.
Thanks for your help and for pointing that out for me.

Noreen

Noreen, I've had undiagnosed "spots" on my
liver that have gotten smaller or
disappeared with chemo, and I've had a renal cyst that was
diagnosed when my
cancer was first discovered two years ago. It has not caused
me any problems
at all, not has it changed in size.

I've also had lung scarring due to radiation, but only in
the upper lobe.
Did you have radiation on that side?

Susan

Hello all: I would really appreciate your feedback on what
is going on with
me right now.
I was dx'd in March of 2001 with IBC. I'm doing pretty
well, but in May of
2006, I was experiencing a lot of pain abdominally and in my
pelvic area. I
went to my gyno and she ordered an MRI and blood work. The
tests revealed
fibroids, gall stones, cyst on kidney, cysts on liver and
patchy/linear
opacity at the left lung base. They removed my gallbladder
in June and I am
scheduled for a hysterectomy on Aug 9th. My question to you
is whether I
should be concerned about the following:
Tests revealed:
Small hepatic cysts, cholelithiasis and a 6 mm cyst mid left
kidney.
The liver demonstrates 2 small cysts within the right lobe
of liver
measuring less than 1 cm in diameter.
There is a patchy/linear opacity at the left lung base,
likely representing
some scarring with a small amount of diaphragmatic tenting.
Mild
hyperlucency in the upper lobes suggests pulmonary
emphysema. Patchy
opacity at the left lung base likely represents some pleural
parenchymal
scarring although mild patchy infiltrate related to
pneumonia is not
completly excluded.
Uterus: several rounded structures of decreased signal
within the body of
the uterus consistent with uterine fibroids. The largest of
these is in the
left body of the uterus measuring 2.4 X 1.5 cm.
As I said, I had my gallbladder removed in June and am
scheduled to have a
hysterectomy in Aug., so I'm not worried about those two
areas, but should I
be concerned about the cysts on my liver and kidney or the
patchy/linear
opacity at the left lung base? Has anyone else dealt with
these symptoms?
Did your doctor treat them in any way or just watch them?
Should I be doing
anything else or have any additional tests to see what's
going on? My gyno
and onc didn't explain anything. They both just had a
"wait and see"
attitude. I'm fine with that if that is all I can do, but
just wanted to
ask all of you if I (or my doctors) should be doing more.
Thanks everyone.
Love and hugs,
Noreen
