Hot tubs

For me, announcing that I was NED was one of the biggest
highs I have ever
had. My family and friends were overjoyed and praising God.
My sister sent
me flowers. It is so stressful to friends and family that
you have cancer.
It's like those miners' families waiting for the men to
come out of the
mines. If they've taken care of you through your treatment,
they've proven
how much they love you, and your relationships with them
will be stronger
now than before you had cancer.

Of course, you still have to work at friendship, and you
won't be pampered
like before. I made sure I wrote thank you notes to all the
people who had
brought me food or helped me in other ways. If you feel up
to it, you could
start thinking of this year as a time to give back, not that
you owe people,
but just to give back in general. For example, I helped out
with a big
charity drive that involved handing out boxes of food to
needy people, and
it felt so great to be on the giving end for a change.

Congratulations on your NED status. I am soooooooooooooo
happy for you!

Hello Everyone,

I'm heading on a March break cruise to the Caribbean and
was wondering if we
are allowed to go into hot tubs and jacuzzie's.  I've had
an MRM on my right
and a simple on my left.  It's been 6 months since my
surgery.

On another note how do you handle being NED!  Sounds weird I
know.  But, I
feel like announceing NED, means everyone abandons me.  Now,
I'm all alone,
I'm the only one who thinks of Cancer everyday, especially
when I take that
daily little pill.  Don't get me wrong, I'm not wallowing.
 I have many
things to keep me busy, but I find myself reluctant to
announce to the world
I'm NED.  Funny, I never thought that this could possibly
be a problem.
