Hot tubs

I'm constantly having to explain the difference between
being NED and a  
remission or CURE!
It can be a real pain sometimes but I am usually happy to
educate people  
about IBC. I am also familiar with many people with Stage 4
that have been  
managing an active life for as long as I've had my
diagnosis....that's 6 years  and 
counting, ladies!

Diag 6/99  stage 3b. FACx4 , MRM 10/99, 4 out of 10 + nodes,
ER+, Her neu 
normal.
Taxol  x 5 and rads x24. Currently on Arimidex, Lyrica for
neuropathy in 
feet, and  Prevacid for reflux. On Fosomax for osteopenia.
NED  now

Hi Kathy,

Six years and counting is pretty darn good.  Matter of fact,
very darn good!!! Congratulations!!! Keep on keepin' on!!! 
As for NED and Cure and stuff, I understand what you mean.  
You probably get " NED?  Not Cured? What do you mean
NED?  You mean they can't find it but it can come back?
Well, why don't they do something about it?"  Right? 
Well, never having the thrill of saying NED ourselves I
really do celebrate when others reach NED.   When people as
what the difference is and why I am so happy about it I tell
them, "NED is not quite as happy a thing as cured but
it beats the heck out of 'ED'. "    God
