I am on my 9th day of this trial. I can't tell if it is
working or not. May be too early to tell. My skin mets are
looking really angry. They seem to be drying up, but it is
very sore. The side effects are not that bad at all. Very
dry and need to remember to keep hydrated. So far not hand
or foot sores (keeping my fingers crossed). My remaining
breast has been sore, but think it is all hormonal. It is
sore all the way up to my collar bone and neck. I know you
might not be able to answer any of this, but could it be the
chemo is working? What has happened to some of you who are
on this trial? So glad I can't see or feel my liver mets!
Any one else hate to see women who have both breasts in
their cute low cut shirts or tanks! I miss my two boobies!
That was the best part of my body and it turned on me! I
still wear low (not as low) cut shirts and tanks though. I
refuse to change the way I dress too much. I am in a
"poop" mood this morning. Have to get back into
"fightin' mode"
  Thanks,
  Missy

Missy,
Am I reading this right? Your remaining breast is sore all
the way
to to your collar bone and neck?
If that is right, you need to call your doc.

Patti,
No, that was worded wrong. The mastectomy side is sore
from the mets, I think.

Sorry, thank you for clarifying that.

Missy
I have been on Tykerb/Xeloda for 8 weeks and my skin is
clearing! The redness is fading.
But, at first it did seem to be redder and
"angrier". Maybe 9 days is a bit too soon to see a
big change!!
My husband took digital photos of my skin the day after I
started the meds and we've been taking them in the same
location in our house with the same lighting... at first we
waited 4 weeks between photos but have been taking them
every 2 weeks since then....
We are able to put the photos side by side on the computer
to compare them!
It's amazing the difference!! It makes it seem that the
change is real and not imagined in my own mind... you know,
just hoping to see a difference!
Maybe you should try this .... it really is encouraging to
look at them and see the drug working!!!

(I had reconstructive surgery, so the low cut shirts isn't
an issue for me - but I can imagine how you must feel)

  Hang in there....
and get back to that fighting mode!!

  Hugs
  Peggy
