I'm not sure how much is covered under Medicaid, but if she
is able to keep
her insurance, I would stick with that, because she could be
turned down for
Medicaid and then she'd be up a creek. But if you know for
sure that she
would get Medicaid, you could go and talk to the person in
the billing
office for your doctor and they would be able to tell you
how much would be
covered each way.

Subject: [ibc] Question regarding Medicare vs Medicaid
Hi All,
Once again I have some questions.
Mom has Medicare as primary and Optimum Choice as
secondary thru her job.
She is no longer working so don't know how long the
secondary optimum
choice insurance will continue. Her boss is a sweetheart
and told her that
she will continue it as long as needed. WE were thinking of
switching her
over to Medicaid which we will be applying for soon since I
thought that
would give us all the insurance coverage we need.
I am getting mixed comments from people and have not
researched this
myself. Can't seem to find any time!!!!
Some people tell me that medicaid is good enough on it's
own, yet some
told me it is better to stick with medicare and optimum
choice or switch to
medicare with medicaid.
I am so confused. They told me that medicaid doesn't
cover all meds.
What do I do?
Any suggestions??
Thanks in advance for any assistance.
Rosy
