Dear April,
 
I did not have surgery after cemo, not because of mets but
because of  
resistance to chemo.  It has been almost 3.5 years and I am
doing well  without 
surgery.  I hope that your mother is responsive to chemo. 
If  she is estrogen 
positive I would suggest hormonal therapy such as  arimidex.
 I received full 
remission on that.
 
Good luck to your mom.  She is fortunate to have YOU.
