Tis the season, OK so the phrase is more suited toward
Christmas I suspect but it works for me and beside we can
call it chemo brain kicking in and I'm behind in everything!

I hope everyone had a Merry Christmas, A Happy Hanukkah, or
a merry nothing if that's what you prefer... having family
members that are anti Christmas I've learned to let them be!
But trust me, I celebrate Christmas and treasured it dearly
to be surrounded by family and the beauty of the day by the
sights and sounds.

Any way, just wanted to wish everyone a very HAPPY NEW YEAR
and again if you're anti that let it be!
With all sincerity, I wish everyone happiness, strength and
better health to those in the fight of IBC, peace and
comfort to those that support us. Let's hope that 2007
continues to provide us with more research to find more
magic carpets for us to ride and to get the answers we seek
to cure us from this beast.

Sincerely,
Barbara in NJ

Barbara,

You're right - it IS the season... for people to get
together with family
and others that they love, whatever their beliefs.

I join you in wishing everyone a 2007 that is fulfilling and
as full of love
as it can be.

Thanks Barb,

I would like to wish you, your family and our IBC Family the
very best of everything in the new year.

Looking back we had a pretty exciting "06. We did have
losses, and each one of them took a piece our our heart with
them. Sad to say, we had many Newbees join our ranks.
Scared and confused as we all were, I hope that by finding
their way to this group, they have take comfort from the
support and friendship. We also had many "good
news" messages that brightened our days and gave us all
more hope and encouraged us to go on. Our doctors and
researchers have been at it this year and brought some new
and promising developments.

As for advocacy: The efforts of you, Patti, Mare, Laney
and all of our girls who have been trying to get the word
out certainly have made progress this year. We must
include KOMO TV and Michelle Estabon in any thanks. They
really hammered our message home and followed up on it. They
put IBC on the map and I hope that we will soon wipe it off
the face of the Earth. Wouldn't it be great to see Michelle
doing that report!!

In the past IBC may have been known as an "orphan
disease" but in 2006 we found a home: Any look back at
2006 would not be complete without mention of the opening of
our new IBC Clinic at M.D. Anderson. Although he has been
with us for some time now, the opening of this IBC Center,
for both treatment and research, makes Dr. Christifanilli an
official member of the team. Indeed, he is leading the way
and we all look toward him and his M.D.A. team for even more
hope in the year to come. We now have a center of bricks
and mortar, doctors and scientists from which to fight our
way to victory over this monster. I truly believe in Dr. C.
and his team; we have the best working for us in Houston.

So, at this closing day of the year, along with the pain we
feel for those we lost, I give thanks for all that we have
accomplished. Those of us who are still on the battle field
must take heart in knowing that we are on the move. I wish
you and all my IBC family a new year filled with peace,
hope, improved health and love. Don't ever leave out that
love. God bless.

Rich in NJ.

Dear Rich,
You amaze me with your eloquence in finding the words to say
to each person you
write to. You say all that's in my heart, but could never
express as well.
As a relative newbie (diagnosed 8/31/06) I want to say thank
you to each one of you
that took time to answer a question, or cheer me on, and to
all for the great value
in the volumes of first and second hand information about
treating this beast.
Peace and healing to you all and those you love in the New
Year,
judi
