Hi Susan, I, actually, had gone to Dallas for a second
opinion when they
suggested the trial of Herceptin/Tykerb. I asked my Onc
here in Austin if
he could get me on the trial since we have a Nurse at our
center who does
trials. She got me on the trial so I can do everything
here in Austin. I
had to pay for all the pre-trial tests but once in the trial
GSK pays for
the scans , blood tests and their pills. I still pay for
the Herceptin.
GSK also provided my Onc with a camera to take the pictures
of the skin mets
every 4 weeks.
Ask your Onc. He will know you can apply. Good Luck,
Shirley
