I was diagnosed with IBC in Sept05. I received chemo
treatment from Oct05-Mar06. The chemo did the trick because
my doctors couldn't find a trace of cancer in my right
breast. However, my doctors advised me that a mastectomy
would greatly minimize the chances of recurrence in the
right breast so I had a mastectomy in Jun06. I also had
my oversized left breast reduced. Tissue taken from the
left breast revealed no sign of cancer. We discovered a new
lump in the left breast after radiation was completed in
Sept. Mammogram and sonograms revealed no sign of cancer.
I finally saw my surgeon last week, she advised me that a
biopsy of the new mass is in order. The biopsy is set for
Thursday of this week. The fight never ends.
