Congratulations! How inspiring! I'm taking Marian's advice
and not claiming
the liver "mets." People who know me joke that
they're just the olives
leftover from my martinis! It was still good to get your

Am writing to update with some good news on my sister Julia
who had recent
ALL CLEAR on latest PET scan in February 2006..way beyond
anyone's hopes or
expectations.!! !! She was gearing up for more treatment for
suspected Liver
Mets. This is first time in 14 months that she has been NED
!! But like
Karen she is baffled that she is not jumping for joy. I
mailed the recent
posts on "Post Treatment Blues" to her which are
a great help. I enclose
some of her recent thoughts which echo what many have
already said..
"Feel a bit down, not really sure why though I should
be on top of the world
and I'm not. I think it's the realisation that things
have changed
completely for me now and that no matter what I can never go
back to
thinking I'm invincible like most of us do - don't get me
wrong I'm not
sitting here worrying about it returning but I'm obviously
aware the risks
are very high. Must plan that trip to New York, it'll be
something to
look forward to"
To Lori who wrote about her recent liver scans I want to say
a year ago we
were at that stage and still do not know exactly what was
there..the
diagnosis changed from 'liver mets' to 'not liver mets'
to back to 'mets'
again as recently as November 2005 ..I never thought I'd be
able to write in
and say it's GONE whatever it was, I would like to hold out
hope to you and
say don't despair.
Finally big love and thanks to EVERYONE who answered my
cries for help and
information during this past year; Terri, Laney (of course)

remarkably wise, supportive and compassionate all of you,
Heather JJ,
SRennie, a.k.silver and many, many many more. You were all
such a godsend
and I am so grateful for the "kindness of
strangers".This site has really
been a lifeline dangled down into a deep and very dark well
for me (and
Julia too).
Many thanks also to Pete Bevin who has generously made it
all happen.
I hope i will be one of those reporting back 15 years long
term survival
like Virginia..So unbelievably heartening to hear that right
now..thanks for
the hope you have given and all the kindness, support,
encouragement from
EVERYONE..I would not have got through this year without
knowing you all
here..to connect with, share with and learn from. So, so
grateful to you
...words are not enough..
Spring has sprung and days are getting warmer..
