Hi Charlotte,
I, too, am ER+, PR+. I used Nutri-Systems for 2 months to
get me jump
started on my weight loss. Before I ordered, I put a call
into my Oncs
office. I was given the go ahead. (I know all about the
soy wars.)
What I didn't do was order any of the soy chips or desserts
with soy. When
they send your food, along with your free week (Which they
decide what
they're going to send for free) you do have the option to
send items back to
be replaced with something else of your choice.
My Onc told me last time he saw me that losing weight and
being close to
ones ideal weight is one of the best things I could do for
myself. Be aware
also, that you will also need to spend money on other food
items to eat in
conjunction with your Nutri-Systems food. I've eaten a lot
of chicken,
cottage cheese and fruit. Since July, I've lost 50lbs. I
haven't had any
fast food since then either. I still want to lose at least
30 more pounds.
For several weeks now I've been eating oatmeal for
breakfast and using
JoAnna Lund's Healthy Exchanges cook books for dinner. If
I need a snack,
I'll eat 94% fat free popcorn and spray I Can't Believe
It's Not Butter on
it. I'm going to add "Sweatin' to the Oldies to my
regime. I've also
cleaned out my clothes closet, I mean cleaned it out. At
this time I own
one pair of blue jeans and 7 tops. As I lose weight and go
down to the next
size, I go buy the next smaller size and get rid of the
bigger ones. That
way I have no fat clothes to grow back into.
You might want to call your Onc and ask his/her opinion.
Hugs and Prayers,
Jan
