SoftPlex, Inc. is seeking an individual that will work very
closely with
product management and development teams to enhance the UI
design and
usability of software solutions.
Responsibilities:
* Understand product requirements and end-user needs and
drivers.
* Develop use case scenarios and task flows for new
features and
functions.
* Create UI specifications to match product
requirements.
* Design screen layouts and interactions using
established UI standards.
* Work closely with developers to integrate UI designs
during
development.
* Contribute to the ongoing development of UI standards
and guidelines.
* Enforce consistency and usability throughout the
development and QA
cycles.
Qualifications:
* Experience designing UIs and interactions for
web-based applications.
* Willingness to meet aggressive deadlines and release
schedules.
* 3-5 years of relevant work experience in UI design and
information
design.
Familiarity with the following types of tools and Internet
technologies:
* Photoshop, Illustrator or similar graphics packages.
* HTML, DHTML, Javascript and general database
concepts.
Plusses:
* User research and human factors training
* Usability testing experience
* Graphic design training or background (multimedia or
web design in
particular).
