Dear ISF Colleagues,

I'm hoping that there will be a big Information Systems Forum
contingent at the upcoming Second Life /TechSoup event on Tuesday,
July 18th, 6:00 to 8:00 pm (pacific daylight time)!

Here' the info about the main event:

In addition, the Ethos Roundtable is presenting a Second Life / Real
Life event in Cambridge, Massachusetts on the same day. (The time
will be 6:30 pm eastern daylight time - that's 3:30 pm pacific
daylight time for those of you who are playing at home from the west
cost of the US.)

The Ethos Roundtable event was inspired by TechSoup's mixed reality
event. John Lester, Community Manager at Linden Lab, (the company that
created and runs Second Life), will present a tour of this online
community including how Second Life can be used for educational and
non-profit work. John will have slides and also give an in-world demo
to show you how Second Life works.

The event will simultaneously occur both virtually, in Second Life and
in Real Life (Cambridge, MA). We will be displaying audio/video
footage of both environments to show participants in both locations
what is happening at that time.

To ensure smooth operation of the virtual event, we will restrict the
Second Life TechSoup space to 50 attendees who will be allowed in on a
first-come-first-serve basis. Please arrive early to secure your spot!
