This isnt spam. I think we have a good cause here and I think you
might actually enjoy our website. I wont take more than a minute of
your time - just want to tell you about a site that we put up. If you
live in greater Boston, you will have a use for it. It is free, by the
way.
www.worstofboston.com
It will be a pretty fun site. So far, we havent advertised it at all.
This is one of the first posts I have made in reference to the site.
Still, some people are finding it and posting. The kids that built the
site have been telling their friends, but thats about it. Its fairly
remarkable.
There is only one ad. It is not obnoxious. It is rather subdued,
actually. If you want to help us out, click it. You get a new window
that you can promptly close and we get a few pennies to help pay our
hosting fees. If you dont want to click it, well... dont. It is your
perrogative. You can do what you wanna do...
If you would rather make a donation, please feel free. We will have a
PayPal button on there (at the request of a worstofboston member
*blush*) and all donations will go towards funding an open source
software initiative in local nonprofit organizations and youth
programs. Open Source encourages a collaborative workflow and involves
worldwide cross-culture development of (mostly) free software tools.
If you would like to be informed when the button is available, please

If nothing else, I hope the site is useful and fun. Its obstensive
purpose is to provide a sounding board for those who want to share
their experiences with local people, vendors, schools... just about
anything. Another purpose of the site was for local kids to build a
highly functional website with robust features. These kids are
brilliant - really talented. They had a lot of fun building it. They
had carte blanche in its design and all I did was provide a little
technical project management.
The site allows you to search and discuss everything from people and
public figures to restaurants and schools. There is a discussion forum
and a picture post. I would like for the forum to become a vibrant
community, but we will see how it goes. So far, we have had more
visitors than I expected. I hope the number of visitors will continue
to grow.
Poke around on the site and if you have any advice for me or any
suggestions on how to make it better, please dont hesitate shoot us an
email. All comments and criticisms are welcome.
Critique and suggestions should go to: development

Donations get you an
worstofboston.com email address - accessable by
WebMail (through your regular web browser) - but you are in NO WAY
obligated to give anything. Not at all. Not any amount. Honest to
Goodness.
Thanks a lot - and stay out of the heat if you can. People are melting
out there.
