Performance Tracking: How to Prove You Are Successful

Session Details (Return to Conference Program <http://www.ctcnet.org/conf/2006/at_conference/program.asp>; )

Date: Saturday, July 29, 2006
Time: 9:00:00 AM - 10:30:00 AM Location: Congressional E

Summary:

Performance tracking, the continuous collection of information done internally in an organization, can be a great tool for non-profits. Even small organizations can, in a time efficient manner and at a relatively low cost, integrate performance tracking into their daily operations and have useful real-time data available for program management, grant proposals and reports when they need it.

The session concentrates on three requirements for the successful integration of performance tracking: Outcome definition, performance tracking software and the management of what is essentially an organizational change process, as the non-profit moves toward a performance-focused way of thinking. The session uses case studies to illustrate each point.

By the end of the session, participants will understand how an organization can integrate performance management into its daily operations and what it takes to fully benefit from the approach. Objectives:

1. Understand how one non-profit integrated performance tracking

2. Understand the requirements for benefiting from performance tracking
