I have a VZ6700, and two people in my office use the Blackberry 7250.
My biggest complaint about either system is that the battery life is horrible, compared to almost any cell phone on the market today. Make sure you purchase multiple chargers; one for each car, one for the office, and one for home, and probably another set for travelling; it's not that keeping up with a single set of chargers is all that big a deal, it's just that when your phone IS your PDA and your backup email device, running low on power can be more catastrophic.
The VZ6700 runs Windows Mobile 5.0. I find the interface to be fairly intuitive and simple to use; the connection between Mobile Outlook and my Exchange server's rpc service just works. It's great to see your email and your calendar every time you pull the phone out. The expandable memory (mini-SD) is handy, too. I use that for file transfer almost as often as I use the direct connection and the BlueTooth features.
On the minus side, while the VZ6700 has a lot of functionality, it doesn't perform any function particularly well. Trying to dial the phone one-handed, for instance, is impossible. Getting the PDA to stop notifying you that you have voicemail is a minor annoyance. The keyboard is a little difficult to get used to; I'd almost prefer a larger screen so that I could just use the onscreen keyboard and stylus, but it has come in handy on occasion. The sound quality is dismal; using some kind of earpiece or headset may help.
It's also not the sturdiest beast in the world, and dropping it will set you back the full retail price of the item if it gets broken.
The PDA functions, particularly the EVDO connectivity, have been lifesavers on numerous occasions. If you don't already have a GPS system of some kind, having Mapquest in your pocket can be handy.
Good luck,
Andrew Feland
