We use both PCs and Macs in our office and both work well. (Our film and graphics people are serious Mac partisans, our web and project management people are PC people.) The issue for us really is how the infrastructure interacts with them. So, for example, we run Exchange Server for email and shared calendaring, and we have spent way too much in support to get things working right where the Mac and PC can talk and live together.

I have been a PC guy since 1990. I just bought a new Mac Book Pro laptop (for travel and our of office work) and I LOVE it. But, I could do that because my network is already set up to support both kinds. I do not think that the security issue for the Mac trumps the other issues you mention. And so I would recommend against a wholesale switch of platform on that basis.

>>;Management has me researching the possibility of moving our office from PCs to Macs and I wanted to get the opinions, observations, comments etc. of the group. I believe they are interested in doing this mostly from a security standpoint. My concerns so far are cost, training, lost productivity, and the small market share Macs have. I know the debate of Macs vs. PCs is all over the map but am looking for a non-PC/non-Mac biased opinion.>>
